Horace Lee Shultz, 57, of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 4, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 26, 1960, in South Charleston, to Clyde Shultz and the late Barbara Shultz.

He worked in construction throughout his life, working for the City of South Charleston, 84 Lumber and Kennedy Construction.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Shultz, Jr; his sister, Cynthia Adams; and good friend, Tom Boggs.

Horace is survived by his children, Jessica Skaggs (Edward) of St. Albans, Jennifer Wade (Jason) of Charleston, Julie Lyons (Todd Bryan) of St. Albans; brothers, Butch Shultz (Darlene) of South Charleston, Kenneth Shultz of Charleston, Norman Shultz (Jackie) of Elkview, Travis Shultz of South Charleston; sisters, Mary Kennedy (Jim) of Elkview, Patricia Williams (Carl) of Charleston, Lillian Eggleton (Richard) of Ohio; grandchildren, Levi Wade, Julia Skaggs, Edward Skaggs III, Stasia Skaggs, Jayleigh Wade, Donivan Skaggs, Jaslynn Bryan, Jaxon Bryan; close friends, Max Miller, Michael Anderson, Ralph McCallister, Dave Mallory, Richie Thaxton; and many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Br. Mark Parsons-Justice, OSL officiating. Burial will follow at Shultz Cemetery, South Charleston.

Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
