Phyllis Louise Yoak Francisco passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.
She was born on July 27, 1941 in Reed City, Michigan to the late Harry and Sybil Yoak.
Phyllis was one of eight children and had the unique ability to always manage taking care of her brothers and sisters and anyone that needed help.
She was proposed to on New Year's Eve and shortly thereafter on February 2, 1962 married the love of her life, Louis Edward Francisco. They had two beautiful daughters, Tina and Lisa, four gorgeous granddaughters and one handsome grandson.
Phyllis's career began at a young age in Spring Hill working at Charlie Mandt's Root Beer Stand. After the birth of her daughters, she began working at Kmart and then later for Kanawha County Schools as a cook at Chandler Elementary School for 25+ years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry A. Yoak and Sybil Marie Naylor Yoak; and brother, William Jack Yoak.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Louis Edward Francisco; two daughters, Tina L. Carpenter (John) and Lisa M. Black (Doug); five grandchildren, Stephanie N. Carpenter, Brad L. Carpenter, Courtney L. Shannon, Emily C. Black, and Isabella M. Black; sisters, Betty Taylor, Shirley Breeden, Mary Cochran, Ruth Catlett, and Lena Karwoski; brother Donovan Yoak; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Hospice, SweetBriar, Thomas Memorial Hospital, CAMC General Hospital and Charlotte Laney for their wonderful care and support.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 3 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Jerry Medley officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, February 2 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
Donations may be made in Phyllis' name to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
