Alfonzo
Dalton
July 26, 1972 – June 18, 2021
Alfonzo Dalton, III, fondly known by his family as A3, was released to Jesus, A3's personal Savior, on June 18, 2021 at 5:21 p.m. at Hospice House at CAMC. He was surrounded, at his bedside, by his parents, brothers, and sisters. A3 is with Jesus as a result of neurological complications he suffered following a very unexpected massive heart attack, on church grounds May 9, 2021, Mother's Day.
A3 was the first child of eight born to Alfonzo Dalton, Jr, and Dora Elizabeth Dalton in Beckley on July 26, 1972.
He graduated from Sherman High School in June 1990. A3 obtained his Barber/Perm Waving diploma March 25, 2005 from the Charleston School of Beauty Culture, Inc. He thoroughly enjoyed making sure his clients, which included family and friends, had top professional haircuts. A3 was a sharp dresser from head to toe! He loved nice suits and matching shoes.
A3 was a man of few words. He was a quiet, peaceful individual who always had a smile on his face despite what he was dealing with in his life. We never ever heard him complain. A3 never raised his voice around any of us. He had a gentle spirit.
We could always rely on A3 to participate in the heavy lifting, whether all the work to be done was on one level, or if he had to lift and carry awkward heavy items, like washers and dryers, up three flights of stairs! He was the man! A3 picked up furniture and appliances like they were just feathers to him!
A3 appreciated being with his family. He loved to travel with his brothers and watching movies with his family. A3 enjoyed family holidays, such as Thanksgiving. He had a hearty appetite. We didn't know where A3 put all that food! We could count on A3 having 2-3 plates piled high with good food. It was no feat for A3 to tackle those plates of food and still have more room for several slices-chunks of dessert! A3 is loved and missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Sheely; maternal grandmother, Florence Sheely; maternal uncles, James Sheely and David Sheely; paternal aunt, Beverly Hayes; cousin, Michell Sheely
