Alma C. Cole, 91, of Charleston, passed away Dec. 31, 2006 at her home.
She was a professional musician and music instructor. Alma taught organ and piano for well over 50 years and served as the organist at the Belle Presbyterian Church for over 20 years. She played for several dance bands in the Charleston area and also played for the style shows at the Stone & Thomas Dept. Store.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen Counts of Spring Branch, Tx and Alan Counts of Hampstead, NC; and her daughter, Leslie Decker with whom she made her home in Charleston. Also surviving are her brothers, Everette "Butch" Murrill of Hurricane and Curtis Murrill of Chelyan; and her sister, Gloria Halstead of Williston, SC. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, at Teays Hill Cemetery, St. Albans with the Rev. Denny Dodson officiating.
There will be no visitation.
