Alma Dawson's Obituary
Alma Stewart Dawson, 87, a lifelong Dunbar resident, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007.
Alma was born in Dunbar, graduated from Union District High School and from the Charleston School of Commerce. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Dunbar.
Alma retired from the West Virginia American Water Co. after 42 years of service, where she served as Executive Secretary for the President. After retirement, she enjoyed her weekly bridge gatherings with friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Dawson, her parents, Carroll F. and Lillian M. Stewart and her brother, Frank C. Stewart.
She is survived by her brother, Dr. James V. Stewart and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, November 3, at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Manny Gelido officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, 1504 Grosscup Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064 or to HospiceCare, 1143 Dunbar Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
