Mrs. Alpha Lee Green Sutters, 82, a lifelong resident of South Charleston, WV went to live with the Lord on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

Alpha was born in South Charleston on November 3, 1943 to the late Simon and Evelyn Green.

She was a graduate of South Charleston High School, and retired from St. Frances Hospital where she worked as an admitting clerk.  Even when working, Alpha always found time to be a wonderful wife and mother.

She enjoyed her flower and fruit gardens, keeping the birds fed, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandson.  Alpha found great joy in all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving sisters, Arlene Sloan and Alice Hartwell also of South Charleston.

Alpha is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Charles Sutters; her sister, Anna Mayfield of Gadsden, Alabama; her brother, Simon Green of Florida; her only child, Larry Sutters (Nicole); her grandchildren, Nick Sutters and Erica Kirk; her great-grandchildren, Leah Harless, Jalia Harless, Dom Sutters, and Arianna Sutters all of South Charleston.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with interment to follow in Graceland Memorial Park.

Family will welcome visitors two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
