Alsea "Toad" Smith Newhouse, 90, of South Charleston, went home to meet the Lord Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Gulfside Hospice, Bayonet Point, FL.

She was a retired cosmetologist and the owner of the Caprice Beauty Salon, South Charleston. Alsea was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devoted Christian woman that loved and served the Lord.

Alsea was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Newhouse; son, Rev. Gary G. Newhouse; and her 9 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son, LCDR, USN (RET) Dion and wife, Dorothy, of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Beverly Meadows of New Port Richey, FL, Tammy Roberts and husband, Earl, of Cross Lanes; grandsons, Troy Meadows, Todd Meadows, Gary Shane Newhouse, Donald Roberts and Earl Roberts III; granddaughters, Melissa Ash-Black, Tangyline Ford, Anissa Newhouse and Amy Parsons; 16 great- grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 2 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with her son-in-law, Earl Roberts Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
