Amy Evans, born July 18, 1979, spent her entire life on the mountain she loved so dearly. Tyler Mountain was home in every sense of the word, and Amy treasured the lifelong friendships and memories made there. She loved the mountain fiercely, and her presence will forever be woven into the hearts of those who knew her.
At a young age, Amy became the true definition of a sneakerhead. If a new pair of shoes dropped, Amy already had them. She loved fashion, style, and expressing herself in her own unique way.
One of the greatest blessings in Amy’s life was the lifelong friendship she shared with her soul sister, Danielle. Wherever you saw Amy, Danielle was never far behind, and vice versa. Though life sometimes created distance, the bond they shared never faded. Their conversations picked right back up as if no time had passed at all. Their friendship was a rare and beautiful kind of love, one most people only hope to experience once in a lifetime.
Amy had a gift for thrifting and could spot a bargain better than anyone. She loved finding treasures and proudly showing off her latest amazing deal.
She also had a love for every animal that wandered across her path. No stray, lost, or lonely creature ever went unnoticed by Amy. Her heart naturally made room for all living things.
Amy was also a comedian. Unpaid, of course. She had a quick wit, a sharp sense of humor, and could make people laugh when they needed it most. Even in difficult moments, Amy found a way to bring light into the room.
Amy was preceded in death by her loving mother, Kathy Evans, and her father, Robert “Butch” Evans.
She leaves behind the loves of her life, her three beautiful children, Drew Staats, Ty Bryant, and Skyler Edwards. Amy loved her children beyond measure and was endlessly proud of each of them.
She is also survived by her sisters, Christi and Jennifer; her nieces, JaCee Barrett, Taylor Sullivan, and Andrea Bailey; her nephews, Jayson and Jaden Barrett; and her precious grandson, LJ Lanham, whom she fully intended to spoil rotten.
Amy fought a long and difficult battle, one that most of us could never fully understand. But even through the hardest days, her heart remained light. She was love. She was light. She was a friend you cherished and a soul you never forgot. Most importantly, she was loved every single day.
Her memory will live on in the mountain she called home, in the laughter of her children and grandson, and in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know and love her.
