Angela Maria Little went home to be with the Lord and her oldest son suddenly on Saturday, July 10, 2010.
She was born in South Charleston on April 11, 1949 to Ralph A. Laton and Lucille G. Grammer. She grew up on Hanna Drive in Charleston. She graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1967. She worked as a beautician at Shears Delight. She also worked as an in-home care giver to Daniel Nichols.
She previously attended First United Methodist Church in Dunbar.
Her children rise up and call her blessed, her husband also and he praises her. Prov. 31:28-29
Angie was hospitable, selfless, and a committed servant. A ray of sunshine, a drop of spring rain, watering her flowers waiting to see them bloom. The first pick of flowers bring sweet smelling fragrance and a big smile to her face so soon. A long suffering faithful committed servant of God, she would always step up to the challenge of the day. "Whom shall I send", Angie replied "Send me oh Lord, send me". Angie was loving and committed as a wife, caring as a mother, understanding and devoted as a grandmother, nurturing as a great grandmother, faithful and giving as a sister and friend, and an advocate for family and friends.
Angela was the pillar of the family, with her home being the focal point of all events and gatherings. She was a perfect example of putting Jesus first; others second, and herself last. She was a lifelong nurturer and took great pleasure in bringing joy into the lives of all those around her. An example of this, was demonstrated yearly, when she purchased extra gifts for anyone who showed up unexpectedly at
Christmas. She assisted and encouraged everyone in anyway she could, to be the best they could be. She provided comfort to those who were in need, and rejoiced in all that was good. Her acts of service brought much happiness to others. Through any tragedy she endured, she had a wonderful testimony and found ways to encourage people to come to know and serve the Lord. She always expressed that God's ways were higher than our ways, and that farther along, if we are the Lords we would understand why. She will be sadly missed and never forgotten...
She lived for her grandchildren Kara, Trey, Haley & Christian and her great granddaughter Ariana, who knew her as GG. She never missed Haley & Christian's birthdays, though it meant traveling to Florida to be there with them. She was a matriarch and facilitator and used her creative talents of cooking and baking at events involving friends and family. She will be sadly missed and never forgotten.
Angela was predeceased by her parents Ralph A. Laton and Lucille G. Grammer; oldest son, Carl B. Little II; sister-in-law, Kay Laton whom she has now reunited with in Heaven.
She is survived by husband of 43 years Carl B.
