Ann Josephine Walker, 79, of Dunbar, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010, in CAMC – General, after a long illness.

She was Salutatorian at Dunbar High School for her graduating class in 1949. She was class president of her senior class at Morris Harvey College Nursing School, where she graduated in 1952. After graduation, she was employed as a registered nurse for St. Francis Hospital, and then retired from WV Rehabilitation Center as a Staff and Charge Nurse after 20 years of service. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was a loving mother and a proud grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mort and Flo Robson.

Ms. Walker is survived by her daughters, Melanie Walker of Dothan, AL, Kimberly Randolph of Charleston; grandchildren, Tracy Gates (Daniel) of Dothan, AL, Lori Randolph of Pittsburgh, PA, Annika Banks (Andy) of Pelham, AL, Amy Randolph (Ellis Childs) of Covington, GA, Christy Heard and her husband, Matt of Dothan, AL; great grandchildren, Kaleigh Heard, Walker Heard, Nathanael Childs. She was also anxiously awaiting the arrival of two additional great grandchildren, Martin Gates and Allie Childs. She is also survived by Pam James of Dunbar, who was like a third daughter.

The family would like thank the staff of CAMC General for their wonderful care of Ms. Walker.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, November 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
