Anna Ruth
Keys
February 18, 1929 – June 23, 2025
Anna Ruth Keys, 96, of South Charleston went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home on Monday, June 23, 2025.
She was born in Tornado, WV on February 18, 1929 to the late Harry Dow Brammer and Mary Elizabeth McComas Brammer.
Fun-natured with an infectious smile, Anna had a way of making everyone feel at home. She was affectionally known as the "Neighborhood Maw-maw" and could often be found swinging on her porch swing.
She cherished her time with her family above all else. Her home was a gathering place filled with love and the smell of something delicious always cooking - especially her pancakes.
Anna's deep faith in God was evident in the way she lived and cared for others. She leaves behind a legacy rich in love, laughter, faith, and cherished recipes. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, Carl Ivan Keys; daughter, Tonya Stewart; son, Dr. Jeff Keys; step-son, Jimmy Keys; and siblings, Ethel Pearl Brammer, William "Leo" Brammer, Earl Brammer, Lyman Brammer, Marjorie Loftis, John Brammer, Raymond "Elwood" Brammer, Harry T. "Mike" Brammer, Dorothy Munch, Verna Mae Smith, Phyllis O'Dell, and Cebert Brammer.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Fisher (David); son-in-law, Steve Stewart; grandchildren, Shane Stewart (Lori), Samantha Carlini, Brooke Farrington (Todd), Travis Fisher, Dr. Brad Keys, Fallon Fisher, and Kalyn Fisher; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Peanut and her cat, Tigress.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers, Erica Lawrence, Joy Lawrence, and Sherry Woods as well as her doctors and medical staff for their compassionate care and kindness.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. Ron Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston.
Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
