Obituary

Anna "Kooge" Escue Richardson, 88, of Dunbar, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Thomas Memorial Hospital.

She was a long time member of the Dunbar United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the United Methodist Women and was an integral part in the planning and preparation of various church dinners.

Kooge also loved to participate in the Dunbar Bowling League and loved to go to the beach and go camping in the mountains.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dempsey Dale Richardson, her parents, Guy William and Zadie Elizabeth Escue and by her sister, Louise Escue.

Surviving are her children, D Richardson, II and his wife, Christy of Petersburg, Jack Richardson and his wife, Sandy of Dunbar and Tammy Jones and her husband, Jeff of South Charleston; brother, Bill Escue of St. Albans; sisters, Gerry West of St. Albans and Glenna Curry of Scott Depot. Also surviving are grandchildren, Seth Richardson, Casey Richardson, Pete Richardson, Shane Richardson, Shari Keyser and her husband, Josh, Alex Jones and Hannah Jones and great grandchildren, Austin and Gavin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, at the Dunbar United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family would like to acknowledge all of Kooge's special friends who helped and supported her all of these years.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Dunbar United Methodist Church, 1401 Myers Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.
