Annie Ruth James, 81,  received her wings Wednesday, August 16, 2023 while surrounded by family at CAMC Memorial.

She was born on May 14, 1942 in Cora, West Virginia to the late Jesse James and Sallie Mae Birdsong.

During her 81 years, Annie touched many lives, and her loving spirit will be remembered always.  She loved her family, and looked forward to seeing them all at the family cook outs.

In addition to her parents, Annie was  preceded in death by her brother, Richard Moore, Sr.; sisters, Rosa Lee Moore, Velma Lu James, Mary E. Belcher; and, grandson, Dominique Dogan.

Annie Ruth leaves to mourn her, son; Charlie Dogan, Jr.; daughters, Lulina Ann Gayman, Tammy Marie Watts, Veronica Angel James-Whitestone (Glen), April James, and Lillie Mae James; niece, Elizabeth Ann James; bonus daughter, Zina Michelle Watts; and, 27 grand children, 53 great-grandkids, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A funeral will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, August 28 at The Father's House Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Lloyd Hill officiating.  Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the church.
