It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" Sugg, known lovingly by many as "Bone", who departed this life on June 28, 2026, at the age of 74.

Born on February 4, 1952, in the charming city of Charleston, West Virginia, Tony’s life was a testament to the quiet strength and unwavering love he held for his family and friends.

Tony was the cherished son of Minnie Lee Goins and Lee Sugg, who preceded him in death, alongside his beloved daughter, Monique Butts, his brother, Hillard Sugg, and his nephews, Keith Sugg and Marvin Sugg. Despite these profound losses, Tony’s spirit remained a beacon of resilience and kindness to those who knew him.

A man of few words, Tony possessed a profound ability to touch lives with his gentle presence. He was the steadfast backbone of his family, offering a listening ear and a comforting presence to all who needed it. Known fondly as the uncle who would babysit with a twinkle in his eye and gifts in hand, he created a tapestry of cherished memories with his nieces and nephews, who adored him dearly.

Tony leaves behind his loving sisters, Alfaye Coleman, Mondella Woods, and Omie Brock; two nieces: Tonette “Toni” Sugg and Tiffany Coleman; four nephews, Howard Coleman III, Vernon Woods, Hillard Garland, and Donovan Garland; along with a host of grand-nieces and nephews, who will forever hold him close in their hearts. He also leaves behind his long-time partner, Angela "Angie" Newhouse, who was his companion and confidante, sharing in the joys and challenges of life by his side.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at The Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV, for their compassionate care and unwavering support during Tony’s final days. In his memory, donations can be made to Hubbard Hospice House, ensuring that more families receive the same compassionate care.
