Obituary

Argel Lee Corbin, born on April 11, 1917, went home to be with his Savior on Tuesday, December 1, 2009.

He has been reunited with his wife of 68 years, Mary "Mae". He was an employee of Fletcher Enamel then worked at Carnegie Steel as a machinist. He then left his position to defend his country in WW II. Upon his return he worked for Gravely Tractor, where he built engine assemblies. It was his dream to own and operate his own grocery store, so he built 20th Street Grocery in Dunbar. As neighborhood groceries began to loose popularity, he accepted a position as a guard at Union Carbide at Institute. Later, Argel "Dick" retired as a machinist from Union Carbide. He then fulfilled another dream and became a full time small farmer. In his spare time he repaired lawnmowers and automobiles. He lived a full and busy life.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie; granddaughter, Caitlin; son-in-law, Bill Cunningham and sister, Dora Baldwin, all of Dunbar. Also, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, December 4, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 3, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hope Valley Dream Center, P. O. Box 5294, Charleston, WV 25361.
