Arietta Gillespie Corbin, 88, of Buford, GA, formerly of Dunbar, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007, in Peachtree Christian Hospice, Duluth, GA, after a short illness.
Arietta was treasurer for First Church United Methodist for over 25 years, and past president of the Crusaders Sunday School class for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roxie and C.C. Gillespie; husband, Julian M. Corbin; sister, Margaret Glass; brothers, Clarence Gillespie and Charles "Jock" Gillespie.
Mrs. Corbin is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Carol Corbin of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Kelly Combs, and her husband, Chris, Scott Stricklen, and his wife, Jessica all of Atlanta; four great grandchildren, Daniel Stricklen, Alexis Mathis, Logan Stricklen, Brandilyn Stricklen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 29, at First Church United Methodist, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
The family has requested that donations may be made to the General Fund, First Church United Methodist, 1401 Myers Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064, in lieu of flowers.
