Arthur Blair Casto, 87, of Anderson, SC, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his residence.
He was born May 12, 1922 in Rockcastle, WV and was the son of the late Okey H. and Elva Battrell Casto. Mr. Casto attended Bethel Grade School at Rockcastle, high school at Ripley, WV and Montana State University (Air Force Navigation) and Indiana Institute of Technology (Mechanical Engineering), Fort Wayne, IN. He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the 20th Air Force in the South Pacific, Guam and Siapan. Mr. Casto was employed of Union Carbide for 22 years and the Stauffer Chemical Company for 12 years. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant, WV.
He as preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Parsons and E. Marie Casto and three brothers, Milford, Dale and Bernard Casto.
Surviving are his wife, Gertrude Tolley Casto; 2 sons, Jeffrey K. Casto of Phoenix, AZ and Stephen B. Casto and his wife, Anna R. of Anderson, SC; 2 grandchildren, Christopher B. Casto of Atlanta, GA and Amanda M. Casto of Palo Alto, CA; sister, Ardella Casto of Cross Lanes.
Funeral services will be held at 2p.m., Wednesday, January 6, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Richard DeQuasi officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
