Arthur Ellis Moore Sr., 76, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 29, 2024, after a long illness.

He was born on August 30, 1947, in Charleston, to the late Charles and Mary Moore.

Arthur was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a carpenter and painter at trade. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and family vacations.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ed Moore, Larry Moore, Terry Moore; and his sister, Ida Moore.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Charlotte Moore; children, Patricia Pauley and husband Red of Cross Lanes, Moose Moore and wife Ronda of St. Albans, Bonnie Bishop and husband Richard of Charleston, Julie Walker and husband Denny of Elkview; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brothers, Butch Moore of New Jersey, Tommy Moore of Nitro; sisters, Evelyn Young and husband David of New Jersey, Nancy Moore of New Jersey, Annette Kniess of New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 2, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Larry Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 2, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
