Azai Zy’Mer Pettigrew

Azai Zy’Mer Pettigrew, 32 days old, entered into Heaven to be with his Lord and great grandparents, Adeline Sheets, Valeda Pettigrew and Alfred Martin. This precious little boy was born June 1, 2026, and departed this earth far too soon on July 2, 2026.

Though his time with us was only 32 precious days, Azai filled countless hearts with a lifetime of love. His gentle spirit, peaceful presence, and beautiful smile brought immeasurable joy to all who were blessed to know him. He may have been small, but the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind will remain in our hearts forever.

Left behind to cherish Azai are his mother and father, Ka’Lani Lycans and Tae’On Pettigrew; his big brother, Aziym Rudolph who was his favorite person.

Along with immediate family and friends, there are several extended family members who will miss Azai. These include his grandparents, Sarah and Mike Porco, Shaniece Pettigrew, Robert Howard and Pacha Hill; his uncles, Keyon and Caleb Lycans, Tyleek Pettigrew, Jessie, Joseph, and Jeremiah “Cookie” Porco, Joseph and Porco, and Robert Howard Jr.; his aunts, Aajaylah Pettigrew, Nyyona Howard, Latasha Hicks, and Ciara Botkin; his cousin, Layla Lycans: his great- grandparents, Renay Lycans, Mary Howard, and Robert Pettigrew; his great-aunts, Tiffany Pettigrew, Marilyn Bowles, Chardae Pettigrew and Shamika Howard; his great-uncle, Bruce Bowles; and his godmother, Zai-Nya Johnson.

Though our arms held you for only a little while, our hearts will hold you forever.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family will welcome visitors one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
