Barbara Gillispie, 73, of Poca, went home to be with The Lord on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Hubbard Hospice House West after a long illness.

Barbara grew up in South Charleston. She was a faithful member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Bancroft. She enjoyed going camping and fishing. Barbara retired after 10 years from Nitro Walmart. She also worked at Shoney's in South Charleston as a curb girl and at Heck's in St. Albans. Barbara loved talking about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved her family, church family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Markus Gillispie; her parents, Virgil Bishop and Edna (Bishop) Brown; brothers, Harold Bishop and Marvin Bishop; and sister, Glenda Cantrell.

Barbara is survived by her son, Billy Gillispie (Michelle) of Poca; children, Burma Garnes (Dennis) of Red House, Markus Gillispie (Debbie) of Poca, Ricky Gillispie (Teresa) of Poca; brother, Ashley Bishop (Linda) of South Charleston; grandchildren, Blake and Dylan Gillispie of Poca, Chris Garnes, Josh Garnes (Jamie), Wendy Winter (Stacy), Scott Gillispie, Tonya Ranson and Ricky Gillispie (Courtney); ten great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Holmes, Wendy Winter and 4 ^th Floor Pavilion at Thomas Memorial Hospital and Hubbard Hospice House West for taking care of Barbara.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Jeff Arthur, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memory Gardens, Red House.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 19, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
