Barbara "Barbie" Lynn Jordan

Barbara “Barbie” Lynn Jordan, born March 25, 1966, went home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2026.

Barbie was born in Charleston, WV. She was the daughter of Barbara Canfield. Trauma touched her life at the young age of 18 months when her mother was tragically killed –leaving Barbie; her brother, Frank; and her sister, Kim. Barbie and Frank were adopted by their aunt and uncle, Marilyn and Ron Jordan, and their sister, Kim, went to live with her grandmother, Louise Butts.

Barbie was a beautiful woman. She was smart, musically talented, athletic and determined. She used her strong will and determination to succeed at becoming a talented pianist and organist. She also played the flute and sang in church and school choirs. She played volleyball and softball and was part of a state championship softball team at her high school in Memphis, TN.

The past ten years have been difficult as she battled cancer in several forms. During that time, she lost her dad, Rev. Ron Jordan, to Covid. Her strength and determination carried her through chemo and other treatments. Cancer and pain finally took their toll and she died peacefully at home.

She is preceded in death by her birth mother, Barbara Canfield; her maternal grandparents, Archie and Louise Butts; her paternal grandparents, Earl and Ruby Jordan; and her adoptive father, Rev. Ron Jordan.

She is survived by her adoptive mother, Marilyn Jordan; her son, Dylan Lewis Jennings of Texas; her stepson, Jimmy Jennings, of Charleston, WV; her daughter, Adrianna Jennings of Atlanta, GA; her son, Anthony Campbell of Atlanta, GA; her brothers, Frank Jordan (Christy) of St. Albans, WV; Ronald Andrew (Andy) Jordan (Sheila) of South Charleston, WV; John Jordan (Kristin) of Mt. Juliet, TN; Reuben Jordan, of Lenoir City, TN; sisters, Kim Lowe (David) of Charleston, WV, and Emily Mullins (Paul) of Hermitage, TN. Also, several nieces and nephews and cousins.

The family appreciates her stepson, Jimmy, for being with her in her last days and for caring for her.

There will be a private memorial celebration of life at a later time.
