Obituary

Barry Lee Lamp. 73, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021.

He was born on February 25, 1948, in Charleston, to the late Glenn and Helen Harless Lamp and was raised in St. Albans as well as Richmond, VA.

Barry served honorably in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971. He was in the Vietnam War, where he earned four Purple Hearts. Barry was a hero to many, especially his wife Chalane and his grandson Cody.

He owned his own contracting business in Cleveland, Ohio. Barry drove a taxi for Gary's Taxi and C&H Taxi. Barry also worked for years at Yeager Airport, where he delivered luggage. He had a passion for old cars and was in the process of buying several.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant baby sister: his Vietnamese wife and their baby son; his second wife of 30 years, Judy Lamp; and his great-granddaughters, Makayla Chalane and Ember Mea McNeely.

Barry is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Helena Chalane White-Lamp; daughter, Misty McNeely; step-daughter, Jennifer White (Robbie); step-sons, Kenneth Dale White, Jr. (Brenna) and Isaiah White (Lexus); grandchildren, Cody McNeely (Marissa), Cearria McNeely, Sabrina McNeely (Kris), Jazmyne Barker (Andrew), Kandi McNeely, Kaezaun White, Cassie McNeely, Katie McNeely, Isaiah White, Jr., Izekeil White and Izellia White; his loving and precious great- grandchildren, LeeAnna McNeely, Jayton McNeely and Ryan McNeely; special cousin, David Foster; his best friend and Vietnam veteran, Dale Akers; good friends, Rod Collins and Dale White; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, relative and veterans.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, December 6, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. James Mosley officiating. His final salute with military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Institute.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
