Barry Eugene Swiney, of Charleston, passed away on December 27, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born May 2, 1949, he was 73 years young at the time of his death.

Barry was a retired heavy equipment operator, and a lifetime member of his local Teamsters Union. He enjoyed his retirement spending time with with his family going on "special missions". Barry will be greatly missed by all of those who loved him, and will forever be "The Pretty One".

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte Swiney (Owen), and Eugene "Dink" Swiney; his brother, Mike Swiney.

Barry is survived by his wife Joyce "Ann" Swiney (the love of his life); three sons, Todd Swiney, Caleb Swiney, and Roger Hight (his son by heart); his sister Carolyn "Sue" Bailey; brother by heart, Eddie Burdette; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his two favorite aunts Janet and Sandy.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
