Belva Ann Powers, 92, born December 22, 1922 to Silas and Hannah Raney, died August 2, 2015.
She was a loving mother and wife. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses she enjoyed spending many hours teaching the Bible to people of all walks of life, helping them to better their lives. She enjoyed a wonderful relationship with her Creator and looked forward to the resurrection where she will enjoy life on a paradise earth with her family and friends.
Belva was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Buchanan and Paul Powers; brothers, Henry, Audrey and Shelby Raney; sisters, Nevada Raney, Frances Hughes, Stella Faulkner and Etta Little.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Bryan (husband, Harry), Terri Sothard (husband, Fred) and Patricia Roncaglione (husband, J); sisters, Mary Sons and Nell Farnsley; eight grandchildren, H.P. Bryan (wife, Melanie), Wesley Flores (husband, Adrian), Jessica Shafer (husband, Kevin), Christopher Bryan (wife, Janera), Thomas Sothard (wife, Samantha), Michael Sothard, Jeremy Roncaglione (wife, Sarah) and Joseph "Alex" Roncaglione; eight great-grandchildren, Mesha, Graeme, Sebastian, Nicholas, Taylor, Emma, Eli and Dashel; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 606 King Street, Dunbar on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Todd R. Perry officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV 25387.
