Benjamin Franklin Holley, 66, of Charleston, WV, went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2026, after a sudden and unexpected illness. He was born on June 28, 1960, in South Charleston, WV, to the late Milton and Betty Jo Holley of Ansted, WV.
Benjamin graduated from Dunbar High School and worked for Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 625 for 34 years.
He never met a stranger. Often when fishing, he would strike up conversations with people he met at the fishing pond, become friends and enjoy a meal with them later. He enjoyed cooking southern country style meals. Going on long rides to Ansted to visit friends and family was a treat. While traveling, he was known to just suddenly pull over and fish wherever he saw an opportunity. Benjamin loved playing horseshoes and corn hole. He is leaving behind his two beloved cats.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Garland Holley; and his sister, Joann Zirkle.
Those left to cherish his memories are his daughters Stephanie (Edward) Shaw and Michelle Holley; grandchildren, Chase (Kearstin Holley), Cody Collier, Brianna Baker; great grandchildren Abriella, Amris, Amaya, Cyrus, and Grayson; his sister, Hazel (Thomas) Bowen; sister-in-law, Debbie Holley and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, is handling the arrangements for the family.
