Obituary

Benny R. Hunt, of Dunbar, passed away at home on Monday, August 5, 2013, after a battle with cancer.

He was born December 27, 1944 in Kanawha County, son of Roy Hunt and Dollie Waybright Hunt Fauber. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jo Hunt Ellis and step-father, Robert L. Fauber.

Ben worked at Carbide in the Spandex unit in the early 70s, then Stewart Sandwich Co., Storck Bakery, Lance Co. and Life of Virginia. He moved to Orlando, Florida in 1977 where he worked at Sewell Plastics until 1980 and then transferred to Havre de Grace, MD for 10 years and then back to Orlando, FL in 1989 where he retired in 2005 from CKS Packaging. After retirement he and his wife moved back to Dunbar.

Ben was a 1963 graduate of Cedar Grove High School and was a member of the Glasgow Fire Dept. in the 60s. Ben was an avid WVU fan and also loved Nascar. He was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church.

Surviving him are his wife, Bettie Shiltz Hunt, daughters, Cindy Hunt Burch (Kevin) and Ellena Hunt Davis (companion, William), both of Deltona, FL; brother, Bobby K. Hunt (Gloria) of Plattsburg, NY; four nieces, four nephews, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar, with the Rev. Joe Ballard officiating. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Benny to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd, W., Charleston, WV 25387, or to Fairlawn Baptist Church, 500 20th Street, Dunbar, WV 25064.
