Berman Earl Wilkinson, known as "Wilkie" to his Carbide buddies and "Uncle B" to his numerous nephews and nieces, passed away at the Teays Valley Genesis Nursing Home on Saturday, November 14, 2015. He was 85.
He was unashamed in his love for his Lord and his family. Berman was married to Wanda Wilkinson for over 61 years, until she passed away in 2012. He considered his daughter, Dina, a gift from God and was thrilled when his grandchildren were born and always kept up with all of the events that took place in their lives. Berman worked as a pipefitter at Union Carbide for 35 years and, after retirement, enjoyed helping others with any of their plumbing or carpentry needs – he considered that his ministry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda and his brother, Paul David.
Berman is survived by his daughter, Dina and husband, Dave; his special niece, Wendy Doig and her husband, Mike Doig. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Nina Miller (husband Bobby), Maxine Lail, Ruth Truman (husband Jack) and Lois Whaley. Also survived by his grandchildren, Brian Crowder, Sarah Snow, Mike Crowder, Kaylee Doig and Cody Doig and great grandchildren Abby Snow, Jackson Snow, Oliver Crowder and William Crowder. Berman is also survived by his special friend and companion, Lois Jones.
Memorial Service will be 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17 at Dunbar Mountain Mission Church, Dunbar with Pastor Ray Parsons officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
