Bernard Burdette, 91, of Sissonville, was a very loved man that went home to be with the Lord and his family on Wednesday, March, 15, 2023 after a short illness.

He was born on February 4, 1932 in Sissonville to the late Shirley Madison and Nancy Ellen Burdette.

Bernard was a good father and everybody loved him. He raised a large family and was a simple man.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sons, Billy Lee Burdette, James "Bo" William Burdette; daughter, Linda Lou Burdette; and his wife, Janice Kay Burdette.

Bernard is survived by his children, Barbara A. Slater and husband Howard Lee of Sissonville, Diana Burdette of Sissonville, Richard Lee Burdette of Sissonville, Cathy Lynn Seabolt of Charleston, Cathy Ann Walker of Charleston, Rudi Lee Burdette and fiancee Shelby Roberts of Sissonville; his sister, Lillian Marie Westfall of Texas; grandchildren, Curtis Hanshaw, Jessica Rhodes, Leslie Moore, Joshua Slater, Brittany Fields, Mindy Burdette, Jennifer Myers, Kaylee Burdette, Tabitha Burdette; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 20 in Sissonville Memorial Gardens, Sissonville with Pastor Buddy Myers officiating.
