Betty Gay Garnes, 90, of Dunbar, passed away at Thomas Memorial Hospital, on Monday, October 29, 2018.

Betty worked many years in retail at Woolworth's, Murphy's Mart, and Ames

She was an independent lady and was blessed to live 90 years on her own. Grandson Joshua said about his grandmother, "She helped raise 3 generations like a champ and could swing a switch like a pro."

Betty was originally from Sissonville and the 10 ^th child of Vollie and Gay King who preceded her in death. Also preceding her were sisters and brothers, Leonard, Simon, Frye, Pete, Freeda, Elva, Alva, Esther and Eunice. Her husband, Dennis "Bob" Garnes passed away in 1995.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Marsha Wisnewski (Glen); son, Dennis "Denny" Garnes; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Don) Beitkreutz, Jodie (Brian) Breitkreutz, Jason Garnes, John (Amy) Pritt, Joshua Garnes, and Jessica (Hank) Dyer; great grandchildren, Skyler Workman, Emma and Ella Breitkreutz, and Kaela Garnes , Ian, Trey and Nate Pritt. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Violet.

According to Betty's wishes there will no visitation or funeral and she will be buried by her husband Bob in Slater Family Cemetery.
