Betty Jane Leonard's Obituary
Betty Jane Price Leonard, 85, of South Charleston, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at the Hubbard Hospice House after a short illness.
She was born December 8, 1924 in South Charleston and was a 1941 graduate of Charleston High School. Mrs. Leonard was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in South Charleston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Alfred Leonard of South Charleston, parents, Robert Clayton and Virginia Huffman Price of Charleston, brother, Robert Clayton Price, Jr. of Charleston.
Surviving are her son, Jerry Howard Leonard and his wife, Suzanne; daughter, Rebecca Marie Cook and her husband, Mark Stone; sister, Joyce Price Pritt of Sarasota, Fla.; grandchildren, Mark Eric Cleek, Justin Byron Leonard, Sarah Ann Leonard, Thomas Ryan Whitaker and John Andrew Whitaker; friend and companion, Jack Carte; caregiver, Brenda Parsons.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 5, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Frank Shomo officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.
