Betty Lou Taylor

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Lou Taylor, who departed this life on July 12, 2026, at the age of 93.

Born on April 11, 1933, in West Virginia, Betty lived a life defined by love, faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her. Her greatest joy was spending time with those she loved, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

Throughout her life, Betty was known for her strength, compassion, wisdom, resilience, generous spirit, and unwavering faith. She dedicated many years of her life as a home care caregiver, compassionately caring for others with the same kindness and patience she showed her own family. She enjoyed painting, cooking, gardening, quilting, attending church, and being a home interior representative. Above all else, she cherished her family and found her greatest happiness in being surrounded by those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Viola Keen; her beloved husband, Dewey Ray Taylor; her children, Randy A. Taylor, Dewey L. Taylor, and Anita Riffle; and her siblings, David Lee Keen, Jerry Keen, Helen Whitehair, Dorothy Lanham, Lenora "Tiny" Saunders, Floranne Coon, Mary Parker, Lewis Keen, and Edward Keen.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Barbara Hughart, and her youngest son, Richard Taylor; her brother, Fred Keen (Carolyn); her brother-in-law, Jimmy Taylor (Anita); 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love, guidance, and legacy will continue to live on through each of us. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Union Valley Gospel Tabernacle with Pastor Robert Legg officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories.
