Betty Jean Meadows, 78, of Elkins, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at her home.

She was a homemaker and a native of Spring Hill, WV.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Samuel Curtis and Emma Alice Downs, three sisters, Delores Davis, Rosetta Bryant and Jo Ann Scarberry, and one brother, Morris "Bub" Downs.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, David L. Meadows; one son, David W. Meadows and his wife, Jane of Elkins; daughters, Kathy Swecker and her husband, Julian of Green Bank, WV and Barbara Hos and her husband, Kenny of Wes Plains, Missouri; sister, Vronnia "Bunny" Gladwell of South Charleston; brothers, Sam and Bob Downs of South Charleston; six grandchildren, Curtis F. Hayes, II and his wife, Lynn of Ft. Dix, NJ, Jason Hayes of Cumming, Ga., Brandi Phillips and her husband, Grey of Phillipi, Amy Treola and her husband, Scott of Tornado, Elizabeth Cox and her husband, Scott of Belington and Jeremy Woods of Elkins; She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 16, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Danny Ray Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
