Betty Lou Slawter, 58, of Tornado, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015.

She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in St. Albans. Betty was employed by the State of West Virginia. She was a very special person with a big heart and a wonderful cook.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Happy Jack and Stella Johnson; brother, Tom Johnson; and sister, Phyllis Scarberry.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert; brothers, Larry Johnson of St. Albans, Jerry Johnson of Berryville, Va., Bob Johnson of Winchester, Va. and Dave Johnson of St. Albans; sisters, Virginia Mellinger of South Charleston and Margaret Sams of Ashburn, Va.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sun. October 11, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Steven Neese officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
