Bill Scarberry, 93, of South Charleston passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 after a long illness.

He was born in South Charleston, on October 27, 1932 to the late Lawrence and Lucy Scarberry.

After graduating from South Charleston High School, Bill went on to work for the WV Department of Highways.  He enjoyed raising hunting dogs, watching baseball, deepening his faith, and most of all he enjoyed being a loving father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, who was the love of his life, Virginia Dare Robinette Scarberry of Brushy Creek Kentucky.

Bill is survived by his sons, Jeff (Elekta) and Scotty; his grandsons, Evan (Jessica) and Jordan (Jennifer); along with his great-grandchildren, Hadlee, Ryker, and Parker.

The family would like to thank the staff at Thomas Hospital and Hubbard Hospice House for the wonderful care they gave to Bill.

The family will be holding a private graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a private donation be made to your chosen place of worship.
