Obituary

Reverend Billy Jackson, Jr., 73, of Charleston, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Hubbard Hospice House.

He was retired from Cummings Diesel Co., and was also a retired pastor with the Gospel Tabernacle Association. He pastored many churches in the area, but most recently served the Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle for many years. Rev. Jackson was also a licensed realtor and appraiser.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Presley and Georgia Jackson and by his brother, Tom Jackson.

Surviving are his loving wife, Elberta Jackson; daughters, Carol Mace and her husband, Steve of Fla., Jeanne Hunt and her husband, Jimmy of Charleston, Kelly Rider of Charleston and Billie Jo Smith and her husband, Don of Florida; son, James Richard "JR" Jackson and his wife, Michelle of Hurricane; sisters, Janet Williams, Betty Dickens and Reba Skidmore all of Charleston. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 13, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 12, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
