Billy Ray Pauley, Sr., 75, of Nitro, passed away Friday, January 30, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital.
Mr. Pauley was a former manager of K-Mart and operated Bill's Place in South Charleston. He was a retired US Navy veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Mae Gillispie Pauley; daughters, Janet Turley and her husband, Ronnie of South Charleston; Nina Brown of South Charleston and Bonnie of Columbus, OH; sister, Mayme Walker of Minnesota; granddaughters, Jessica Carrier and Elizabeth Turley of South Charleston; grandsons, Gary Carrier, III, Billy Ray Pauley, III and Cecil Davis of South Charleston, Billy Bryant of Campbells Creek, Nick Bryant of Guyandotte, Josh Pauley and Roger Brown of Charleston and four great granddaughters. Also surviving are a special friend who was considered a daughter, Stephanie Keen and her son, Trayton Keen, who was considered a grandson, and Daniel Bailey who was also considered a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Rodney Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
