Bonnie Juanita Bucklew, 101, of St. Albans, passed away on October 27, 2020.

She was born on June 6, 1919 to the late, John and Virginia Burnette, in Ducktown, TN.

Bonnie was free spirited and moved about the country during her lifetime. She met her husband Bill Bucklew in San Diego, CA, where they were married in 1961. After his passing on February 10, 1971, she was a busy single mother focusing all her time raising and taking care of her family.

Faith and family were two of the most important things to Bonnie. She actively attended church and was a Sunday school teacher. Bonnie was a member of Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle. She loved sharing her faith with others and reading her Bible. Bonnie had very diverse interests that kept her busy over the years. Not only was she a great artist, she loved decorating, painting, floral design (well anything that had to do with flowers) and gardening. Hosting large family gatherings and creating elaborate meals also brought her much joy.

Putting 101 years of an amazing woman's life on paper would take volumes. She always had a story to tell and an opinion to share. Bonnie will be truly missed and will always hold a special place in many hearts.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Smith; sons, Bill Bucklew and wife Shelly, and Bob Bucklew-Marlette and husband Jon; granddaughter, Crystal Higgins and fiancé Kyle; great-grandchildren, Michael, Hunter, Hayden and Kimber; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
