Bonnie Bumgardner Smith, 83, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully at home on February 3, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.

Bonnie was born on December 1, 1940, the daughter of the late John and Edith Bumgardner.

She was the office manager for Dr. Steven Zekan in Charleston, West Virginia, for over 35 years.  She also loved to travel and to make people smile.

Besides her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, David; daughter Teresa Smith; and a host of brothers and sisters.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Robert) at home; grandsons, Nicholas Casto (Deandra) of Galax, Virginia and Thomas Brandon Casto (Amy) of Obetz, Ohio; great-granddaughters; Courtney Casto, Sophia Puckett, Harper Casto, and Scarlett Casto; sisters Betty Pollack of Oregon, and Jean Scanell of New Albany, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the workers at Loved Ones In Home Care for making Bonnie comfortable over the past few months, with special thanks to Ella.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7 at Keller Funeral Home,Dunbar with Pastor Jerrod Caltrider officiating.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

A private family graveside service will be in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
