On February 29, 2012, our precious Lord sent two of his brightest angels down from heaven to bring our loving mother, Bonnie Sowards home. They took her by the hand and told her, "your pain and suffering is finally over and your loved ones are waiting for you." Bonnie looked up and smiled...

Bonnie, 68, was of Glenwood and passed away at Heritage Center in Huntington. She was a homemaker and a native of Dunbar.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Mary Martin, brother and sister-in-law, Denzil and Doris Martin, her sisters, Margaret Martin and Betty Pickens and grandson, Gregory.

Surviving are her husband, Glen R. Sowards; sons, Robert S. Sowards of Glenwood and William Sowards of Ironton, OH; daughters, Mary F. Jones of Proctorville, OH and Karen Mayes of Glenwood; brothers, Carl Martin of Dunbar and Charles Martin; grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Ricky Lee, Lita Dawn, Shane Michael and Nicholas; great grandchildren, Aiden, Joshua, Azalea, Devin, Caleb and Zoey.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 3, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
