Braden Gregory Stevens of Nitro passed away at his home on April 5, 2015.
He was born on October 19, 1988 in Parkersburg to his parents Tom and Debbie Stevens.
Braden loved life, loved his family and his girlfriend Cassie Bird. He was a precious son, grandson and brother and was known for his kind, gentle spirit and handsome smile. His friends would add a passion for music especially percussion. Braden was an accomplished drummer in local bands Timeless Memory, Towers of Veritas, Astraeus, and most recently, Elysium. He was attending West Virginia State University majoring in Biological Sciences and worked at the Regal Cinema Movie Theaters and as a waiter at the Tide Water restaurant. He was a member of Dunbar First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Claude H. Messinger and Dr. Thomas E. Stevens of Ashland, Ky.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas E. Stevens Jr. and Deborah M. Stevens of Parkersburg; brothers, Thomas E. Stevens III and Eric H. Stevens (wife Melissa); and one sister, Alexis M. Stevens of Parkersburg; grandparents, Maybelle Messinger of Huntington and Lee Stevens of Ashland, Ky.
Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday April 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Craig Coster officiating along with Mr. Sam Gasaway and Mr. Rich Brooks.
Friends may visit 2½ hours prior to the service on Thursday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
