Brian Alan Durden, 26, of Lexington, KY, passed away on May 21, 2021.

He was born on September 1, 1994 in Oregon, OH. He then moved to Kentucky, Maryland, and currently West Virginia. He graduated from Jessamine County Schools in Kentucky in June 2013.

Brian's loving mother, Jessica; sister, Brianna; and brother, Brilee James are devastated by this sudden and unexpected loss. As children, their mother would sing to them "Just the 'four' of us, we can make it if we try. As long we have each other." Brian lived by these words with his own family.

He was a free spirit. Although, having a sometimes difficult path, he continued to strive toward a successful means to provide a home for his family. Brian lived life to the fullest, bringing happiness to those around him, wanting all of those he leaves behind to continue cherishing our families first and foremost before everything.

Brian was an avid story teller, all made from his own personal experiences. He captivated with his genuine caring soul. He left each "new friend" with a lasting impression and added to "Brian's book of stories."

He loved hunting, fishing for big catfish, remodeling houses with his brother, tinkering with cars/bikes, and was willing to do anything asked of him because he would always figure it out. Some of Brian's favorite times were spent hanging out with the family. Especially, the holiday feast with all of his double and triple helpings of food and desserts.

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Self and Frank Durden both of OH.

Brian is survived by his daughters, Kaylee and Skyy Durden both of KY; sons, Braylen Miller of KY and Alan Durden of IL; mother, Jessica Alkhraisha and husband Khaled of Culloden; father, Frank Durden of OH; sister, Brianna Spurlock and husband BJ of KY; brother, Brilee James Durden and wife Olivia of Hurricane; grandmothers, Henrietta Durden of OH and Kathy Murrah of NC; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
