Calvin Coolidge Smith, 87, of Dunbar, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
He was retired from the Wells Fargo Armored Car Service and was a former employee of Fletcher Enamel Co. in Dunbar. Mr. Smith was a member of the Dunbar United Methodist Church and was a US Army veteran of WW II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lee Smith; parents, Roy E. and Lula Smith; brothers, Ralph and Elmer Smith and sisters, Audra, Agnes, and Frances.
Surviving are his son, James Smith and wife, Barbara of Dunbar; step-son, Dale Starcher of Dunbar; sisters, Ada Unrue of Buckhannon, Alice Moody of Nitro, Anna Fisher of Dunbar and Ruth Jacobs of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Scott W. Smith of Culloden and Shawn A. Smith and his wife, Tina of Culloden, Donnie Starcher of Dunbar, Ricky Starcher of So. Carolina and Tammy Lanham of Dunbar; great granddaughter, Isabella Smith of Culloden. Also surviving are six great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 15, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor John A. Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
