Carl R. Diamond, 82, of St. Albans went to be with his Lord on December 7, 2017 following a short illness.
He was born in Barnabas on May 5, 1935 to the late George and Christine Diamond.
A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, he was currently attending the Church of Christ on Kentucky St. in Spring Hill. He retired from the US Navy after 24 years of service, and then went on to work, and retire from the Kanawha County School Board. He was a graduate of Huntington High School and Marshall University.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
A beloved husband and father, he is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, Della B. (White) Diamond; daughter, Lisa A. Diamond of St Albans; son-in-law, Kenneth "Jay" Wheeler of St. Albans; granddaughter, Ashley Hernandez (Joseph) of Cross Lanes; great-grandsons Jeremiah and Jace of Cross Lanes; sisters, Gwendolyn Lewis of Switzer, Lois Thabet (David) of Stafford, VA, Bonnie Diamond of Fort Gay; brothers, Ronald Diamond (Janet) of Ashland, KY, Terry Diamond (Dottie) of Proctorville, OH; brother-in-law, Cary White (Patricia) of St. Albans, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1p.m., Monday, December 11, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor John Holland officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family would suggest making donations to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd., W., Charleston, WV 25387, who were so very caring of Carl in his final days.
