Carl G. Nipps' Obituary
Carl G. Nipps, 85, of Dunbar, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012, at his home, following a long illness.
He was a US Army World War II veteran and worked as an independent masonry contractor. He also worked for Denny Hill Construction Co.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis; daughter, Julia; son, Michael; daughter, Pam, and his many siblings.
He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Messer and son, Carl, Jr., both of Dunbar; grandchildren, Lisa, Brian and Ashley; great grandchildren, Samantha, Hollee, Miranda and Madison. Carl is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Pete Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Preston Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, September 10, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Karen and the rest of the staff at Covenant Home Health Care; Tammy, Ashley, Lynn, Pete and the rest of the staff at HospiceCare; the staff at CAMC General, Dr. Masaghi and staff at the VA; Michael and other friends and family who helped with his care.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Boulevard, W., Charleston, WV 25387.
