Carl R. Johnson's Obituary
Carl Richard "Richie" Johnson, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, and coach, died on Thursday, April 27, 2006, from a short illness.
Ritchie was a graduate of West Virginia State College and had a Masters Degree from Morris Harvey College.
Ritchie will best be remembered as a long time coach and teacher at Dunbar Junior High School. He had a gift for language and laughter and great love for his brother, daughters, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his brother, Ron Johnson, and two daughters, January Johnson Wolfe, her husband Jim Wolfe, Jennifer Woolwine and her husband, Donnie Woolwine; 6 beloved grandchildren, Chelsee, Katie and Jacob Woolwine, and Lincoln, Max and Sophie Wolfe.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Dunbar Alumni Association, % Nancy Hill, 4726 Washington Street, W., Cross Lanes, WV 25313.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2006, at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless, Jr. officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 30, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
