Obituary

Carol Sue Cook Allen, 64, of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 30, 2016.

She was born on May 10, 1951 in Charleston and was the youngest of 7 children born to the late Paul and Mable Cook.

Carol retired from Mountaineer Gas after 30 years of service. She then worked for Pressley Ridge and the American Red Cross. Carol was a faithful member of Central Community Tabernacle, where she read the Inspirational Reading and Announcements. She loved her church family.

Everyone she came in touch with loved her beautiful ways and you could always count on her for anything. Carol was a woman of her words.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Fontaine Allen II, her soulmate; two sisters, Mary and JoAnn Cook; three brothers, John, Jack and Eddie Cook; and four nephews, Albert, Robbie, Billy and Timmy.

Carol is survived by her loving children, Kimberly, Kelli, Fontaine "Kenny" Allen III; brother, Arty Cook (Mary) of St. Albans; granddaughters, T'Keyah, Cierra and Jazmyne; grandsons, Fontaine K. Allen IV "Lil Kenny" and Damien-Fontaine; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 6, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Carolyn Walker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
