Carol Hope Pleasants Byrd of North Charleston, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Genesis Putnam Center, Hurricane, after a long illness, five days after her 89th birthday which was on June 13.

Carol graduated from East Bank High School and was a retired secretary for Kanawha County Schools.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bonnie Pleasants; and her husband, Troy Lee Byrd.

Carol is survived by her siblings and families, Gayle Thompson, her daughter, Cheryl Hunt and granddaughter, Laura all of NC, and Karen S Mann (Mike) of South Charleston; brother, William M Pleasants (Becky) of Buffalo; nieces, Kimberly S. Rios of Purcellville, VA and Amy Smith of Eleanor; and her dear friend and neighbor of 50 yrs, Viola of North Charleston.

Rest in eternal peace in God's hands - your "baby brother"

In honor of her wishes, Carol will be laid to rest in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney. There will be no service.
