Carol Elaine Greenhowe Lawrence 59, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away on April 2, 2025, surrounded by her family at home.
She was born in Charleston WV, to the late Edna Johnson Greenhowe and Howard Greenhowe Sr.
Carol graduated from Dunbar High School Class of 1984, she was a cheerleader and a member of the track team. Carol's first job was working in the Shoe Department at Murphy Mart in Dunbar, WV. She eventually moved to Atlanta, GA while there she worked at Harris Beauty Supply Warehouse, IPB Printing Company, Rhodes Furniture Company and Holiday Inn Catering. After marrying Doug, they had a son Doug Jr. and she became a stay at home mom, who loved to cook for her family. Carol was well-loved and adored by many people, she never met a stranger. She enjoyed watching sports, especially her favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Howard (Baby) Greenhowe Jr.; mother-in-law, Clara Nell Lawrence; and brother-in-law, Corey Lawrence.
Carol is survived by her husband, Douglas Lawrence Sr. of Fayetteville, GA; son, Douglas Lawerence Jr. of Fayetteville, GA; brothers, Walter Greenhowe (Marcia) of Dunbar, WV, Laymon Greenhowe (Sandi) of South Charleston, WV, Michael Greenhowe of Dunbar, WV, Nathaniel Greenhowe of GA, Gary Greenhowe of Dunbar, WV, Calvin (Angela) Greenhowe of Cross Lanes, WV, David Greenhowe (Ruby) of Cross Lanes, WV; father-in-law, Adair Lawrence of GA; brother-in-laws, Reginald Lawerence (Lynn), Adair Lawrence Jr, both of GA; a host of nieces and nephews in WV, GA, MD, CA and OH who she truly adored and have always shown them love even if it was just a text or phone call to say "I Love You." She also leaves to cherish her memories special friend/sister, Sandra Greenhowe; special friends/brothers, Reginald Scott and Rodney High.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
The family will welcome visitors one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
