Carolyn Marie Cannon, 85, of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2024.

She was born on October 11, 1938 in Dunbar, to the late Edward and Anna Marie Cannon.

She grew up in Dunbar and graduated from Dunbar High School and Wheeling College. She also lived in Washington D.C. and St. Petersburg, Florida, before returning home after her father's passing to care for her mother.

Carolyn loved life, people, animals, and especially cats. She was proud of her Irish Catholic heritage. She was a sweet, fun, and wonderful friend to those who knew her.

Left to mourn her passing are her cousin, Katie Cannon Thomas (Pete); 42 children of her 1st cousins; and over 80 relatives on her father's side. Carolyn also had good neighbors, great friends, and a loving church family. She still has six loving cats that are being cared for by her close friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, June 4, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Friends may visit one hour prior the the service at Christ the King Catholic Church, Dunbar.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
