Carolyn McClure Lindsey, 77, of Dunbar, went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, after a short illness.
She was a long-time employee of Sloan's Department Store and retired from the City of Dunbar.
Carolyn was the daughter of the late James Waitman and Justine Sleath McClure, and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Carl R. "Wort" Lindsey, and grandson, Brian Ray Lindsey.
She is survived by her son, Carl Lindsey and wife Jeanie of Dunbar; daughter, Paula Bradley and husband Mark of Hurricane, and Patty Null and husband Guy of Sissonville; grandchildren, Brand (Anna) Lindsey, Aaron (Erica) Bradley, Loren (Tiffany) Bradley, Holly Bradley and Marshall Null; and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Gage, Gracie Mae, Ayla, Brody and Jax.
She was blessed to have married into the large extended Lindsey family that loved her like a sister, and blessed with her church family at Dunbar Mountain Mission. She will be missed by the loyal and loving friends of the Dunbar High School "Class of 1951", with whom she always shared a special bond.
A memorial service in celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 3, at the Dunbar Mountain Mission Church, Dunbar, with Pastors Jim Phillips and Tim Summers officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
